Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays for a couple of reasons. First reason, I’m all about the love. Love is something I thank God for every single day. It doesn’t necessarily has to do with being loved but showing love to others and yourself. Smile, compliment someone, tell your friend how much you love and appreciate them. Take yourself on a date and tell yourself how much you love yourself. It’s not conceded, it’s self love baby. Life isn’t about material possessions, or who’s got the better car, it’s about love. To me at least. So a holiday that celebrates that! I’m all for it.
The second reason it’s one of my favorite holidays is because 13 years ago my now husband asked me to be his girlfriend. I’ll never forget that day. I rushed to his house before he got home and decorated his room with a bunch of hearts and I wrote on them that I was in love with him (first time I told him I loved him). When he came home he asked me to be his girlfriend with the cutest Tiffany & Co heart necklace! Of course I said yes! 9 years later, we couldn’t get married on Valentine’s Day so we married a month later on March 14th, 2014. We wanted to still keep our anniversary with a 14 in it. 14 is now my favorite number ( I have it tattoo’d on my wrist)
So to kick off February, the month of love, I put together this casual cool Valentine’s Day outfit. If you have a day date or you just don’t want to wear a dress, this outfit is perfect. This top is low cut with a scrunch detail to show off as much skin as you want. Perfect for adding a little sexiness for your date. My husband actually took these pictures for me and kept telling me how hot I looked. lol The top is cropped so I paired it with some high wasted black jeans. I love how leopard print looks with the color red so I added it to this look. I found this heart shaped bag at forever 21 and it just adds that finishing touch to this Valentine’s Day look. I couldn’t find the bag on their website so maybe you have to just find it in store. I linked a similar one below. I found these adorable glasses at the Orange County Swap Meet. Only $5!!
I love how this look came out. I’m all about being casual but still looking sexy for my man. He see’s me when I’m looking like a hot mess so it’s nice to show off a little skin and remind him that I can go 0 to 100 real quick! Even if you don’t have a special someone for Valentine’s Day, dress up for yourself. Show yourself you’re #1 and learn to love everything that makes you, you! Because there’s only one you, and that’s your superpower.
