Hello my loves! I’m here today with a review of the new Kylie Cosmetics birthday collection. This collection is huge! I only bought a couple of items because lets get real, I’m not spending over $300 on makeup for the whole collection. What I like about this brand is that the quality of the makeup is amazing. If you’ve never tried anything from this brand and you’re a makeup lover, you’re missing out. Ok lets get to reviewing.
I Want It All Palette: The only reason I wanted this pallet is for the highlight shade! I know $54 on a highlighter? I’m obsessed with highlighters so I know I needed to buy this. The eye shadows are nice. Pigmented and easy to blend out. I love the shimmer shades but the matte shades are kinda whatever to me. The matte shades are pretty light, great for transition shades but they’re nothing special. The black is nice though. Really dark, probably the darkest black eye shadow I’ve come across in awhile. The blush I wasn’t a fan of at all. I had to really build up the color to show up on my face. My skin is really pale so I was surprised how it lacked in pigment. The highlight shade, wah wah. It’s very glittery and chalky. I hated it to be honest. I didn’t even want to use it as my highlight so I just used it on the inner corners of my eyes for a pop of highlight. This ruined the whole palette for me because it’s the only reason I purchased this. Price $54 (still available)
Mini Kit Velvet Liquid Lipsticks: I’m obsessed with the formula of the velvet mattes. I still love the brands regular matte liquid lipsticks but the velvet’s are so much more comfortable to me. They don’t dry down completely matte but I’m ok with that. I can easily remove it without using makeup remover or really scrubbing at my lips. Check out my review on Kylie’s last collection of velvet mattes here. In this collection, a couple of the shades are from her last collection that I already have but I have the full size, these minis are great to just throw in your purse. The new shades are so pretty! Great bold shades. I love a bold lip. Price $36 (still available)
King Ultra Glow: Soooo glad I picked up this highlighter to make up for the one in the palette sucking. This highlighter is beautiful. Super pigmented and glowy. It’s a loose powder highlighter that is a shimmery champagne color. I don’t own any loose powder highlighters and now I’m obsessed! I went a little overboard in these pictures and put it everywhere! But hey, you can never have too much highlight. Price is $14 (sold out)
This is a makeup look I came up when I was trying out these products for the first time. There’s so much pink so I went for a pink eye shadow look. I used one of the velvet matte lipsticks as my eyeliner. Thought it came out pretty cool. And I wasn’t kidding about going crazy with the loose powder highlighter! I wanted my highlight to be seen from space lol.
Is this collection Laugh Love & Hippie approved?
The palette, no, I wouldn’t waste your money on this. The colors aren’t anything special to me and the blush and highlighter suck! Only thing I like is how dark the black eye shadow is. The velvet minis are great! I would highly recommend them. And the loose powder highlighter is a must! If you love highlighters you need this shade in your life!
