How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

Just like doing the dishes, cleaning your makeup brushes can be a chore. I have a lot of brushes so when it comes time to clean them, it can be a task all on it’s own. I’ve finally found a way to make cleaning them easy and fast. Here’s how I do it.

I use to use olive oil and dish soap but once I found Dr. Bronner’s Organic Pure Castile Liquid Soap it was like olive oil and dish soap had a baby! It’s a great all in one soap that’s even gentle enough to wash your body or face with. It’s very concentrated so a little goes a long way. One bottle will last you a longggggg time. It’s organic and vegan and contains organic hemp, olive and coconut oils to really moisturize and clean those brushes. Mine is rose scented but there’s other scents and even unscented. I love how this soap has no synthetic detergents or preservatives so it’s really gentle on your makeup brush’s bristles.

I just wet my brush, put the soap on my Practk Palmat, swivel it around to clean out the makeup, rinse, then lay flat to dry. Bam! That’s it.

The Palmat has been a lifesaver! It has two different sides with different grooves to really give your brushes that deep clean that they need. You can adjust the size to fit to your hand size or it has suction cups on the bottom to suction to your sink. My brushes have never been this clean before. Combined with the Dr. Bronner’s soap, it’s a match made in makeup brush heaven 🙂
