One of my favorite makeup products are highlighters. This trend hasn’t been around for that long (maybe a couple of years) but I’m so glad that so many brands are joining this amazing makeup trend. At first, highlighting wasn’t really my style. I felt like a disco ball. The more and more I wore it, I fell more and more in love. They just add a little extra sparkle and glow to your makeup. I need that glow because my skin type is oily and I always wear really matte foundations. I have other highlighting palettes but these are a collection of my favorite individual highlighters. Enjoy
M.A.C Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in the color Soft & Gentle- This was my very first highlighter that I purchased. The name is perfect for it, it’s a very soft & gentle highlight. I use this when I just want a soft highlight. Price is $33
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop- I had to snag this baby up as soon as beauty guru Jacyln Hill came out with it last year. She is the highlighter queen! This highlight is great for my skin tone because it has a pinkish, peachy undertone to it. The formula is smooth and glides right on. Sorry it doesn’t look the greatest, my long nails took chunks out of it haha. Price is $38
ColourPop Tie Dye Highlighter in Churro- This product sold out in the first minute that ColourPop launched it! I snagged it up the second time they went on sale. It’s hard to explain the formula, it’s very soft but has so much pigment. It’s a coppery peach color with flecks of silver. I find it hard to apply with a brush so I just use my fingers and I love it! You really can’t beat the price either. Price is $8.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal- After trying out Champagne Pop I had to have another Becca highlighter. I love opal because it has more of a golden tone. I use this when my makeup is more on the gold or neutral side. These are so creamy and nice! Worth the price. Price is $38
Wet & Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in shade Precious Petals- This is bar far the BEST highlighter from the drugstore. Every time I would look for this it was sold out! I found it at WalMart one day and it’s amazing. It reminds me a lot of Champagne Pop from Becca but for a third of the price. If you’re looking for a highlighter to start off with, get this one! I found them on amazon so you don’t have to search high and low for it. Price is $12.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter in Opal- This is my only liquid highlighter. I have oily skin but I’ll only apply these on my cheeks. When I want a really bold highlight I’ll use this first then top it with a powder highlighter. You will glow like no other! Even with oily skin this doesn’t look bad once your oils come through. It’s a light consistency. Price $41.
