My Skin Care Routine

My Skin Care Routine

If you read my previous post on foundations for oily skin then you know my skin type is nice and oily. The older I get ( I’m 31) I find myself spending more money on skin care than makeup. That says a lot because I’m obsessed with makeup. But in order for your makeup to look good you need a good skin care routine. I’ve tried it all and I’m not stuck on one brand, I use a lot of different brands of skin care. It took me a couple of years to get my skin looking good with and without makeup but I’m here to share my routine that keeps my skin looking amazing.

Cleanser:

Philosophy Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser– I will never use another face wash again. This is great for all skin types. I can have a full face of makeup and this takes away all traces of of it. It’s gentle on my skin and doesn’t strip away the natural oils.  My skin doesn’t feel dry at all after using this. Price varies on what size bottle you get $11-55.

Scrub:

Murad Skin Smoothing Polish– I use this scrub twice a week after I’ve cleansed my face. It’s a creamy polishing scrub that clears congested skin without stripping the skin of it’s natural moisture. I love that it has witch hazel in it which visibly tightens pores and balances oil production. A little goes a long way and this bottle has lasted me months so far! Price is $32

Serum:

iS Clinical Pro Heal Serum Advance– Out of all my skin care this is my favorite product. I get a hydrafacial every month (which you can check out what that’s all about here) and I was introduced to this serum from my esthetician. It provides powerful antioxidant protection, helps improve the appearance of blemishes and acne prone skin, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It has L-Ascorbic Acid which is a form of vitamin C that has anti-inflammatory properties, vitamin E, Retinol, and Olive Leaf Extract. These are great ingredients if you’re looking for a serum to help with pimples and help with aging skin. My skin has never looked better ever since I added this to my skin care routine. I only use it at night because of my oily skin but it’s great for all skin types. Price is $125.

Moisturizer:

Philosophy Take a Deep Breath Oil-Free Oxygenating Gel Cream– This moisturizer is perfect for oily skin. I use this morning and night. It’s gel consistency absorbs into the skin quickly and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. Something about the oxygenating gel makes my skin feel refreshed and awake. Price is $40.

Eye Cream-
Origins Eye Doctor Eye Cream– Everyone should use an eye cream, old or young. This eye cream keeps my under eye area moisturized but doesn’t make it oily at all. I feel like it makes my concealer look even better because it helps the concealer to not settle into fine lines that I have in that area. It has cucumber in it which cools the skin down, Ginseng which helps with crow’s feet, puffiness and fades dark shadows.  Price is $38.

Lips:
Rosebud Perfume Co. Rosebud Salve– The only product I put on my lips! Smells just like a rose, which I can’t get enough of. Keeps my lips moisturized for hours! It’s not only good for your lips but it can be used for your cuticles, you can use it anywhere on the body that’s dry (elbow, knees) and I’ve also used it on a tattoo that was healing to help moisture it. Price is $6.
